Techie Question

OK, so I've found a non-"official" blog layout that I'd like to apply to this blog, but I'm not sure how. The layout I like is from blogger-templates.blogspot.com. I tried following the directions given on the site, but they seemed confusing and pc-geared. Can anyone offer any help? It would be appreciated! Thanks! :)

Hi Nikki! I stumbled on your blog from Ben's.
To change your template is somwhat easy if you're familiar with copy and paste.
Click on the link below the template you like that says get the code. Highlight all the code in the text box and do a copy "Ctrl-C" (for Windows, not sure if MAC is the same).
Go to your blog where you change your template and you'll see the code in a box there. Highlight all of it and do a paste "Ctrl-V" and your new code should replace it. Click on Preview and see if it worked otherwise just close out of it and try again.
There are instructions on that site I noticed but you have to dig for them. Good luck!
Say hi to your mom & dad! Hope all is wonderful in Wallace world.

Thanks Mike!
I actually just realized I'd put the incorrect blog layout site...it's actually http://blogspottemplates.blogspot.com/
The instructions there involve downloading and using Note Pad, etc....anyone have any idea how a mac person like me could do this?

This is not a video game, Mark. Haha :o)

I looked at the direction - they are WAY too confusing.

Glad I could be of some help ;)

I didn't bother with notepad. I think they want you to do that so you can backup your old template. I had two web pages open, my blog where I can change the template and the page where the templates were at. I selected all and copied from one and then selected all on the other and pasted. Like Isay nothing is committed until you publish. So if the preview doesen't work, you haven't broken anything.

btw - If you enter that code Mark told you, a kitten will die so don't do it. ;-P

OK. hold on, I was out on the site you mentioned and I see why they use Notepad. They have an extra added step of uploading images to Photobucket. Any text editor will do and it helps if it has a find and replace function.

This stuff is fun for me. I can't code html but i sure can hack it :)
